Family Bowl-apolis

Why bowling as a family can be a good thing.

When a family is looking for a fun get together depending on your location some will automatically think of going to their local Bowling Center. The beautiful thing about having a local bowling center means you have something different that you can do as a family. Bowling is also an amazing exercise that works the whole body and helps promote a healthier life style.

How to start bowling for free with the family

A great way for the family to bowl and save money is a program called Kids Bowl Free which is a free program that parents can sign their children up during the summer. The program gives kids 15 and under 2 free games every single day during the summer. What makes this program amazing for a family get together is that you can purchase a family pass for a one time charge that allows the parents to bowl 2 free games as well.

Let’s break down why it’s important for families to do activities together; I personally grew up being raised by my grandparents so I was born in their later years of life. As a child I never got to spend time or do activities with my real parents simply because my real mom was not ready to be a parent to me. My dad, well, I didn’t meet him till I was 20 so it’s kinda hard to do activities with a person that’s never around. So growing up I would have loved to have had the opportunities to spend time with my real parents in a relaxed and fun environment that gave us the chance to get to know each other better. See, bowling is a social sport, always has been, you generally play with a team of 4. Sure you can play with less but 4-5 on a team is a pretty good balance for time and enjoyment.

I have a passion for bowling that’s more than most, I work at a bowling center and I bowl on a league once a week. I have met some many new friends through bowling league, because I have been put on a random team for the past several leagues except the team I’m currently on. We have been on the same team for two leagues now and we even won first place last fall. My point in telling you this is that while bowling may be about being perfect and getting a perfect 300, which means you get nothing but strikes. That’s not all there is to it. Winning is important, but the friends I’ve made through my experience bowling will be with me for the rest of my life. Bowling helps build connections and strengthens bonds that you didn’t even know you had with people.

So with my sign off I say Bowl for strikes, even if life gives you gutters. Stay happy my friends.
